Encompassing over 30 years of proven expertise in accessible bathing, the Gentona bath is regarded by many healthcare providers as the number one solution for CQC care excellence in the bathroom. Its multi-beneficial ergonomic design delivers advanced comfort and dignity for service users whilst performance is ultra-efficient and cost effective. It has been proven to reduce utility consumption and operational time by 25% – resulting in every fourth bathing cycle being free of charge. Add to this world-leading in-built infection control, the Gentona is safeguarding quality care and delivering sustainability on an unprecedented level.

Senior representatives from Gainsborough will be available on stand D14 to explain why this specialist bath is the leading choice for high quality care and safer moving and handling. It is available as a stand-alone solution or within a complete accessible Gainsborough bathroom.

The Gentona is a power-assisted solution that facilitates safe and controlled transfer of semi-ambulant bathers in and out of the bath. Its transfer seat lifts, rotates and lowers users so that manual handling by carers is eliminated – ensuring protection against musculoskeletal injury. This feature reduces the risk of
falls and enhances dignity for bathers. Once positioned within the bath, the bath sides are raised hence the bather is semi-submerged by pre-filled temperature controlled water. At a higher position the bath provides safer working heights for carers and better ergonomics to administer personal care with greater
eye-level engagement. The Gentona is the flagship bath from Gainsborough that supports a more positive and reassuring bathing experience for vulnerable residents and patients, particularly those with dementia.

Representing a true infection control innovation, the Gentona is the world’s first accessible bath to incorporate Biocote antimicrobial protection. This silver-ion technology is integrated during the manufacturing process hence providing 99.9% 24/7 protection against an array of harmful microbes including Influenza H1N1, E.coli, Salmonella and antibiotic-resistant CPE, CRO, CRE, VRE and MRSA. BioCote cannot be wiped or worn away and hence enhances hygiene management and reduces the possibility of cross infection.

Peter Eckhardt, CEO Gainsborough Healthcare Group, comments:

“Our flagship Gentona bath reflects our position as thought-leaders in specialist care. Available as part of our G360 total bathroom solution services, this ultra-efficient and ergonomic design is the proven choice for safety and sustainability. No other bath can strengthen CQC excellence in such a robust way whilst simultaneously delivering unsurpassed ROI.”

Kay Johnson, Group Commissioning Operations Manager, New Care Projects adds:

“Our Gentona baths at Ashlands Manor are operationally efficient as they save energy and in effect give us every fourth bathing cycle for free. We focus on delivering a luxurious service in the most energy efficient way; the Gainsborough baths are key to this approach.”
