The Ascot assisted bath to be showcased in Dementia Home at Care Show

Gainsborough will showcase its leading Ascot height adjustable bath in the Dementia Care Home exhibit at The Care Show Birmingham.

Designed by BRA Architecture in association with Stirling University’s Dementia Services Development Centre, the Dementia Care Home will showcase the latest in innovative solutions to assist individuals living with cognitive impairments. The home simulation will encompass a bedroom, kitchen, dining room and en suite bathroom featuring an Ascot bath from Gainsborough Specialist Bathrooms. Gainsborough has delivered market-leading, specialist bathing solutions for over 25 years in a variety of locations from residential care homes to acute wards. The popular Ascot has been selected for this exhibition feature due to its compact footprint and the exceptional performance levels its delivers both bathers and carers.

The Ascot is a variable height bath with powered seat transfer and has been designed to deliver the highest levels of performance, comfort, safety and ergonomics for both users and carers. Integrated, state of the art computer technology provides reliable, smooth and effortless transfer of the bather into the TMV3 thermostatically controlled bathing water. The Ascot has a maximum user weight of 150kg (24 stone) and can be supplied with a variety of sensory options including air spa, chromotherapy lighting and Bluetooth® sound system.

The Ascot will also be on display alongside other specialist baths from Gainsborough’s bathing range on Stand F10, including the Windsor and Lincoln baths. The Windsor from Gainsborough with WRAS compliant shower, is a versatile assisted bathing system with integrated powered seat transfer and leg lift. This exceptionally capable solution comes with an extra deep bathing depth for increased bather comfort and is easy to clean and maintain, reducing the risks of cross infection.

The Lincoln is a versatile 3-in-1 bathing solution that incorporates a changing table and a bathing/showering platform. Safe and simple to use, the variable height function allows the carer full access to the bather at a comfortable working height. Perfect for either paediatric or adult bathers, the integrated bathing platform and changing table come with removable backrest and an adjustable footrest that ensure optimal bathing position.
